Mind-body coaching
The mind and body are a combined interaction of external and internal energies, chemistry and physiology. We are really just like a big pot of soup stirring around and the quality of that soup depends on the quality of ingredients we put into it or have put into us as we grow. The ingredients, whether they be thoughts, words, experiences, food, air or actions form our energies, chemistry and physiology and essentially become who we are.
There is always a foundation to any soup and no matter what ingredients you add to the soup it maintains a strong flavour of it's own but all soups mature over time and the way in which they mature will be influenced by the type of ingredients that get poured in.
If the soup has healthy ingredients and a skilled chef it will become healthier soup. I remember in Master chef where the contestants were set a challenge to change a bad tasting bolognese sauce into a good one. They used every sense they had to do it. Smell, intuition, knowledge, taste, texture to get it right... mind body medicine is a bit like that. When our soup is starting to taste bad we need to know what to do to get it back on track.
Medicine would have us add more ingredients in the form of drugs to hide the foul tasting parts but removing the source of the problem is always the best treatment. This is what mind-body medicine does.
Learning how the mind and body work you become your own master chef. You control the ingredients by controlling your body and mind. The ability to improve your life is your choice, you just need to know how. Understanding how the unconscious mind and body works and why you have depression, anxiety, pain, addictions or any other disorders is a great step to you having greater control over your well being for the rest of your life.
To make changes you just need enough reasons. When the pain is too great to stay somewhere or the reward is so high for doing something we do it. Don't wait till the pain is too great to do anything about it.
Mind-body coaching gives you the knowledge first and then the skills to create a healthier mind, body and life.
